RIP Mike
Long time paddler Mike Skivington has passed away. Our deepest condolences to his good friends and family. Below is a message from the Ross family.
"It is with deep sorrow that we share the passing of Mike Skivington, a beloved friend to us all in the paddling community and beyond.
Mike loved the canoe racing community. He always eagerly planned his race calendar and gathered his team for the months ahead. Anyone who ever had the privilege of paddling alongside Mike knows the incredible spirit he brought to the boat. His boundless positive energy, steadfast encouragement, and quick jokes made every mile on the water unforgettable. He will be profoundly missed.

Paddlers present at the annual banquet selected the Adirondack Canoe Classic as the race they most enjoyed in 2026.
The Adirondack Canoe Classic is a three day stage race from Old Forge to Saranac Lake. It it easliy New York's most well attended race, frequently drawing international paddlers. The course is known for its natural beatuy, and the event is unique among canoe races for its broad array of paddle craft.
